Psychedelic Support
Psychedelic Harm Reduction | Preparation & Integration Support
What are psychedelics?
A psychedelic is a psychoactive substance that primarily causes non-ordinary states of consciousness, characterised by profound alterations in perception, mood, and thought. Examples include classical psychedelics like psilocybin (from ‘magic mushrooms’), LSD, and DMT, as well as non-classical substances such as MDMA and ketamine which also induce altered states. These compounds are often described as “mind-manifesting” due to their capacity to reveal new perspectives and experiences.
There is growing global interest and research into the potential therapeutic benefits of psychedelics for mental health, leading to increased public exploration and discussion of these substances.
What is Harm Minimisation?
Harm minimisation, or harm reduction, is a practical and compassionate approach focused on minimising the potential risks and negative consequences that might be experience by people engaging in potentially unsafe or prohibited activities. In the context of psychedelics, this means offering a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can openly discuss your experiences, intentions, questions and concerns. It's about empowering you with information and support to make informed choices, navigate challenges, and prioritise your safety and well-being, whether you're exploring, preparing for, or integrating personal psychedelic experiences.
Why seek Integration support?
Non-ordinary experiences - such as those brought about by psychedelics, breathwork, meditation, somatic release, profound stress, or other altered states - can lead to insight, emotional intensity, or shifts in perception. These experiences may feel expansive, beautiful, liberating, as well as disorienting or difficult to process if not carefully integrated. Integration support offers a space to reflect on and make sense of what has emerged, while preparation work supports you to approach an experience with clarity, groundedness, and emotional readiness. It is well understood that good integration really begins with good preparation.
How can harm minimisation or integration support help me?
Contemplation
You’re curious and have questions; perhaps feeling overwhelmed by the vast and often conflicting information available. This is a non-judgemental space for your enquiries, where we can offer helpful, research-based information and signposting to reliable education sources
Preparation
You’re planning to engage in a non-ordinary or psychedelic experience and want to prepare emotionally, psychologically, and/or spiritually. We can help with intention setting and harm-reduction strategies.
Integration
You’ve had a recent experience and you’d like to Integrate insights into daily life, explore unresolved questions or navigate a challenge. You might also be looking to harness the ‘after-glow’ period’s high neuroplasticity for personal growth.
Trauma Support
If a psychedelic or non-ordinary experience, recent or distant has left you with difficult or traumatic echoes or after-effects, we offer evidence-based support to process and integrate their impact.
Connection
It matters. Research shows that isolation following an expansive event can complicate integration or the ability to derive insights and make meaning. Compassionate, non-judgemental listening and support can make all the difference. Reach out and get connected.
On-going Support
For those making the personal choice to engage in a series of experiences or regular use, through a harm minimisation approach, we can help you build resilience, support systems and safety planning, while supporting integration along the way.
Vanessa's approach
to psychedelic integration support
Alongside my psychotherapy work, I have a special interest in integration and preparation support for non-ordinary states of consciousness. My training includes completion of the Integration Training program for Health Professionals with ICEERS Academy (International Centre for Ethnobotanical Education, Research and Service), and Mind Medicine Australia’s Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies, focused on psilocybin, MDMA and ketamine.
I’ve also completed additional specialised training in using ACT, IFS and TIR approaches to support the integration of non-ordinary experiences. These frameworks have deepened my commitment to ethical, trauma-informed and evidence-informed integration practice.
I hold a deep appreciation for the complexity of non-ordinary states, having encountered my own through breathwork and legal retreat contexts. This lived understanding informs how I hold space for you – with care, humility, and a grounded presence.
