Why come for therapy?
People choose to come to therapy for many different reasons. Therapy can support you through difficult times, and it has often been viewed as a pathway for treating psychological or psychiatric conditions. You needn’t have a ‘condition’ however to benefit from therapy. Therapy can also help you explore yourself more deeply and curiously, to bring about meaningful change and personal growth. At Life Force Psychology, sessions are collaborative and person-centred. This means they are tailored to your unique needs and goals.
What can therapy help me with?
Some of the topics and issues worked through in therapy include:
- Anxiety, stress, or overwhelm
- Depression or mood difficulties
- Relationship or relational challenges
- Grief and loss
- Burnout
- Trauma
- Life transitions
- Exploring your neurotype
- Questions of identity, purpose, and meaning
- A desire to better understand yourself, and/or your patterns of behaviour
Which therapy modality is best for me?
Generally speaking, no one modality is “best”.
Therapy is adaptive, and depending on your needs, therapy may be brief and solution-focused or open-ended for deeper work. I’m trained in a number of therapeutic approaches and typically work ‘eclectically’, to support your process in a flexible and collaborative way.
Modalities I draw from include:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP)
- Process-Oriented Psychotherapy (POP)
- Trauma Incident Reduction Therapy (TIR)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Music and Imagery Therapy
- Somatic and mindfulness-based practices
Each modality offers something distinct – from building emotional resilience and psychological flexibility, to exploring deep relational patterns and inner resources. My goal is always to meet you where you are, and help get you to where you want to be.
Fees and Practical Information
Sessions are £130 and typically run for 50 minutes.
Longer sessions can be arranged depending on the work we’re doing, and a limited number of reduced-fee sessions may be available for those experiencing financial hardship – you’re welcome to enquire.
Initial sessions typically require payment 48hours in advance to secure the booking. Payments can be made by bank transfer.
I’m recognised by most major UK health insurers, including AXA, Bupa, Aviva, Cigna, WPA, Vitality, Healix, The Exeter, and Freedom. You may need to seek pre-authorisation before we begin.
Session Cancellation Policy
I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. This allows your appointment to be offered to someone else who may be waiting.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at the full session fee.
Cancellations made with 24–48 hours’ notice incur a smaller £25 fee.
